Phnom Penh Driver

Does anyone have top tips for a recommended driver for one and a half days in Phnom Penh (not Siem Reap, just PP)

Thanks!

If I need anything in Phnom Penh; hotels, guides, drivers, tickets, visas, whatever, I call Thary. She's amazingly resourceful and a wonderful person.

An excellent taxi driver/guide is Ben Wee who drives a fairly new fully air-conditioned sedans. His english is quite good and he will go out of his way to please and is a very patient and kind man. In addition to touring he offers an airport pick-up and drop-off service for $7.00 each way. His all day rate is only $25.00. Vans (12 and 15 seats) are also available available at $15 more. Can be contacted by Email at: [email protected]
Website at: phnompenhtaxidriver.com

What I also might suggest (I have done this with success) is when you get a taxi from the airport to the hotel and you find that the driver can speak reasonable english and seems to be a good driver, then negotiate to hire him for one or two days. If not then the hotel can find you one although it may be a few $ more. Price per day should be around $25-30.

Thanks Scotters

Ben Wee is now charging $10 for airport and $30 a day (though i suspect gas prices have sent up everyone's fees). I have however read several negative reports on tripadvisor and elsewhere when he sent other drivers to pick people up (again standard practice i believe).

I will thus just do as you suggest and go with the first airport taxi dirver if appropriate

thanks

Thary has a travel agency and therefore access to good drivers. Scotters suggestion is also a good one, if you end up with good luck of the draw.
