PERSONALIZED TOUR OF TOKYO

Following previous recommendations in the Fodors Tokyo Travel Talk my wife and I went on a two day tour of Tokyo with Junko Matsuda in May, 2006. We would highly recommend her.

She planned our itinerary according to our special interests so that we were able to enjoy your tour as much as possible. She does not drive a car so we took subways(up 65 stairs in one case)/trains/busses and walked to places we wanted to visit. That way we gained a full experience of Tokyo both traditional and modern.

The cost was 20,000 Yen per day for the two of us and travel was extra but not expensive.
We had lunch in local restuarants for around
1,500 Yen. The cost was about the same as the excursions from our cruise ship but we saw so much more.

The guide's name is Junko Matsuda, Jun's Tokyo Discovery Tours. Email:

Glad to know that you liked Junko! The same good experience had we, in April 2005, when we had her as our guide for 2 full days.
We felt that we used very well each minute, and that with her help we visited much more things that we could do without a guide for our first visit to Tokyo.

My wife Kay and I used Junko Matsuda as a guide on our recent trip to Japan and cannot say enough about how good she was. She is fine !! and will tailor your visit to whatever suits your taste. We spent a lot of time on the streets, small restaurants, etc and really got the feel of the country.
