Loved it!! We stayed there in Feb 2002. It hadn't been open long and everything was brand new. The staff was super friendly and our room was gorgeous! It's about a 10 minute walk up from the beach, with street lights and a few hotels and shops along the way. Is there anything in particular you'd like to know?

Thanks Peep. Our main concern was that it might be miles from the beach. We are getting a very good 'deal' via the net for a 7 night stay there (is this too long... we are going to Bangkok for 3-4 nights and had only planned to go to Krabi area for 5 nights). Is there much to do in the general area ? what is the 'spa' like - in terms of treatments offered and expense ? How long did you stay for ?

Hi! We stayed for 6 nights. I checked out the spa and found that it was pretty expensive for Thailand. I was used to hour long massages for $5 or so and the spa prices were much much higher! More like US prices if I recall correctly. But they did offer all kinds of interesting stuff. When are you going? Some times of the year are really rainy over there. When we were there it was sunny and hot. We spent one day in the area, shopping and walking on the beach; one day we went on a kayaking tour through mangrove swamps; one day we took a long tail boat over to Railay beach and then to Poda island; another day we took a long tail to Chicken Island; another day we hired a car and driver (for about $35) and went to Tiger Cave Monastery and a park with 7 waterfall pools (really nice!) and our last day we went on a snorkeling trip to Phi Phi and Bamboo Island. If you like to dive, snorkel or hang at the beach, you can stay amused easily. We loved the hotel and did NOT want to leave! The pool there is really nice.

Wow Peep... you've really given us much food for thought. I think we'll work some of your suggestions into our own plan. We are hoping to go there at the end of October after a few days in Bangkok (and just before we head off to Australia).
