the train from KIX would pull into Kyoto station. Then you could connect to your hotel via the subway, taxi or the bus terminal which is right outside the front of the train station.

thank you ever so much, Kyoto station is only two stations from Shijo on the same line, should be an easy connect.

found another cheap hotel in Kyoto

The APA Kyoto Gion hotel is a good price and great location.
