Off The Beaten Path Asia Ideas
Hello. My wife and I leave for India in 2 weeks. We have been traveling around the world for 22 months now, and Asia is the final part of our 2.5 year journey. We're looking for any advice that anyone is willing to offer us on Asia. We continuously scour forums for ideas. We don't particularly like big cities and enjoy non-touristy, off-the-beaten path places.
Since we're constantly on the move, we don't always have internet time to revisit all of these forums. If you have any ideas for us, could you please post them on our facebook.com/HappyToBeHomeless page?
We can always offer you advice as well, and we have tons of photos and blogs of our world travels at www.HappyToBeHomeless.com . Thanks in advance!

I'd recommend Sikkim, a place where you can see Tibetan Buddhism in practice as well as incredible mountain views.

We visited Assam a few years ago and it would be good in combination with Sikkum which Kathie mentioned above.
We're heading to Bangladesh which is very much off the beaten track. On other trips I loved Calcutta and rural Rajasthan (around Bundi and Bassi in particular). Friends of ours had a great time in Gujarat which doesn't see many visitors overall.
