Scotters... btw... i saw a posting of yours re guides in S.R. area -- do you know if any of them are also good guides for local birding? will post this separately, but just happened to see your suggestions and remembered your name from my post above. thanks. kawh

Any of the guides I mentioned especially John Teng or Veasna could arrange the tour to Prek Toal and the bird sanctuary could arrange the tour. Even the hotel or guesthouse where you are staying can arrange it.
It is about 11/2 hrs by boat each way. Prek Toal is a floating village and the jumping off point for the trip into the sanctuary. A park ranger will act as your guide and the boat can be either a very snall rowboat or a canoe.
The best time to go is from december to may as after that most of the birds will have left. The cost for two will be aroubd $100+.
