New Bagan or Nyaung U?

Looking for mid range accommodation in either location. How do New Bagan and Nyaung U compare?
Which is the better choice to stay in, in terms of restaurants and facilities within New Bagan and Nyaung U?

Thanks.

We stayed at a really, really nice hotel in New Bagan. Here is the name and address:

Bawga Theiddhi Hotel
Myat lay Street, Anaw Ra Htar Block , Na Ra Theinga Quarter, New
Bagan, Bagan, Myanmar

At the time, (2013), it was super new. There were a few restaurants, around, but not many. Our horse cart driver lived very close by, so it was convenient for him and the lady horse to pick us up. We were going from sunrise to sunset, so we didn't really need to explore the night life. He dropped us off in the evening at a nearby restaurant, and we found some guys to take us back to the hotel, for a few dollars. One time we got in a car, and another time, we rode on motorcycles. My daring side comes out in Asia.

In Nyaung Oo,it is much easier to find the restaurants near by the hotel and also other services; Bank,ATM,Horse cart, E-bike.,
In New Bagan, it also have same things but fewer than, and mostly are not near by the hotels.

The best place to stay for access to the temples is Old Bagan.
