please carry on with your TR - it has prompted me to think seriously about how I can get DH [and myself] to the Himalayas next spring, so anything you can tell me will be most useful.

As there's a current thread on Nepal, and Bhaktapur, a UNESCO Heritage Site gets a mention.
We stayed in Bhaktapur for the Nepalese New Year [Bisket Jatra Festival] in Bhaktapur in April 2014 for a week. I've just stumbled across this video of the opening day, which certainly stretched all our senses, and a whole lot more...

We were sat crushed-up on steps at the top of the Temple in rear of the video, and were stuck there for 4 hours. At one stage 500 Riot Police turned up, just in case! I
For much of the Festival, which went on for a week, there are a lot of amazing things going on, some quite unedifying, but it's their country [VIEWER CAUTION]...
