Recently someone took us to a special restaurant about 1 hr train ride from Tokyo that is built into the hillside. Lots of koi ponds, Japanese style landscaping and buildings. Each building housed a private dining room - Japanese style - and fabulous food. Does anyone know the village name and name of restaurant? Would highly recommend the place!

ht, i've been there. had a private cottage to ourselves. just absolutely fabulous. did a trip report about it.

i think by train, it might be about 90 min.

go there if you can.
