Myanmar and Siem Reap

We returned yesterday from a trip to Thailand, Siem Reap and Myanmar. I'd be happy to try to answer questions about travelling there.

I am interested in your trip...we are thinking of going to Bangkok this fall and from there taking a trip to Siem Reap and also to Myanmar. Did you book your trip through an asian travel agent..how long is enough for Angkor Wat (is it worth going to Phenom P?) Which cities did you see in Myanmar ?Any information would be great...

We are also planning the same trip, but want to go to Vietnam too
We would like to do it independently with a private guide. I'd like some info on how you booked air from Bankok to Myanmar and Ankor. Amy specific travel agents used in Bankok? Any good prices on flights from us to asia?
Thanks

Hi. I am heading to Chiang Rai and Siem Reap in June. Is there anyway to cross the border into Myanmar from Chiang Rai? Do I need a visa if I am only going to border towns?

cross into Burma at Mae Sai/Tachilek if it is open..often close by fighting..$5 for one day entry..it is said that with a Visa you can go to Kengtung and then fly to Mandalay or rangoon, this seems to change a lot..also occassionally there is a Myanmar Airways flight Chiang Mai-Mandalay, probably subject to fighting also..Angkor is worth 3 days at least..Phnom Penh is a terrific place and should not be missed...more at www.se-asia.com
