Jewellers for gold? Precious or semi precious? Old or new? Further details required. Also tailors for what?

Gold & precious/semi-precious stones. Looking to replace wedding ring & buy a couple of 18th birthday gifts.

Re tailors - need suits for work.

Thanks - VHS.

For gold a well known jeweler with a chain of stores who also gives a guarantee and certificate is Tanishq. They have an outlet in Churchgate I think. www.tanishq.in. A larger shop which is a fav of locals is Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri in Opera House. Range of mostly new and mostly precious stones contemporary and ethnic jewelry. The Oberoi has one of my fav jewelers, Amrapali, www.amrapalijewels.com. Semi precious stones is still mostly designer style jewelry but the Hughes Road area has a couple of stores whoser names are eluding me. Suits - do u intend to buy the fabric as well?

Western style tailoring for women is not IMO great in Mumbai. The best range of suiting fabrics is at mens stores like the Raymond store at Fort but the tailors there are mostly used to dealing with men. Fabric is actually amazing , great quality and very reasonable in India. But tailoring is touch and go. There is a shop called Burlingtons in the Taj which is supposed to be good, I have only heard not tried. In the Oberoi shopping arcade also there are a couple of boutqiue tailors.
