Mumbai airport question

I am looking at schedules for flights from Udaipur to Singapore, connecting in Mumbai. Jet Airways flys both legs, but the connection time between flights in 2hours 20 minutes. Does anyone know if this is enough to transfer from the domestic to the international terminal in Mumbai?

You should be OK as you are flying on the same airline for both legs, and the best airline in India, imho. Jet should have groundstaff to assist you.

We flew into Mumbai domestic on Air Deccan in March 2005 & found the transfer procedure to the International airport, for our Malaysia Airlines flight, was most chaotic. First we needed to book our transfer from a desk set up in the transit area. Then we waited for about 45 mins until a bus was located to take us to the Intl. airport. There were lots of passengers waiting for lots of flights and it was mayhem. We had two hours leadtime and it (luckily) was enough. Happy travels!

You should be fine. What time does your Udaipur Mumbai flight get into Mumbai?

How much time is Jet itself recommending to make the connection? Also, if you are buying the tickets for both sectors directly from Jet, then I am assuming they believe this is enough time.

I agree that Jet will help if time is tight, what they might do (or what you might strongly suggest they do if their own Udaiupr flight is late) is give you a taxi voucher so you can skip the bus, they have done this for me in Delhi on several occasions. If for some reasons Jet can't or won't help, then I would recco that if the Udaipur flight is late that you skip the bus transfer and take a taxi between terminals. The bus runs on a set schedule (I think only hourly, it's not like the US where there are constant shuttles) and you could miss a connection if your arrival flight isn't timed with the bus departure schedule.

If you fly business class from Udaipur this might help with getting help on the ground in Mumbai, and the domestic business class does not cost much more than coach. It might be worth the price difference, you also get priority when leaving the plane, in that you get out first and if you need to take a bus from the plane to the terminal you often get your own bus which takes only business class passengers and departs first and quickly, and which could make a difference when rushing to make a connection. Your luggage generally also comes out first on the carousel.

You should have no problems making the connection. You will have to transfer between the domestic Santa Cruz Airport and the international Chattrapathi Shivaji Airport. The distance between the two is not more than 20 min. There are shuttles that take you. I suggest you inform the Jet staff about your connection so that they can assist you. Also, when you check in at the Udaipur airport, if you have luggage to check-in, ask them to put a priority sticker on the bags. This way, you're bags will be out first so there should be no unexpected delay because of baggage.

You can walk it from Intl to Domes....well in time.....i.e. in a worst case scenario...only joking....but the airports are side my side...albeit in Indian terms.
