Lunch
I have a four-hour stopover at Narita Airport on my way home from Hong Kong. Since I'll already have my boarding pass and my luggage will be checked through when I get there, I thought it might be fun to run into the nearest town and have a meal so that, when I get home, I can tell friends and family that I've been to Japan and, when they ask me what I did while I was there, I can say, "lunch."
Is this a reasonably feasible idea?

i've had a five hour stop over at nrt on my way to singapore, and took the short train ride into narita town to buy some sashimi and sake to enjoy on my way to sing. you have time to go into narita and have a nice lunch. plenty of places to eat near the train station. i believe the fare was around us$4.00. good luck.

Yes, you are required to remove your carryons. This is both for security reasons and because the plane is completely cleaned while it is refueling.
By the way, many continuing flights that have the same number still change airplanes at Narita.
