Luggage Storage in Hiroshima

Is there any way to store a roller-type carry-on bag (the kind that meets most U.S.-based airlines' definition of a carry-on, when not stuffed full) in the train station at Hiroshima? I would like to visit Hiroshima for the day before heading over to Miyajima for the night, but am unsure how to do this with my bag.

Thanks.

Yes.

There are lockers below the shinkansen platforms. As you come down the escalator from the shinkansen tracks turn left, and just past the escalator, and past the Doutor restaurant, you will see the lockers.

Thanks so much, mrwunrfl! (And also for providing the Japanese to ask where it is, should I get lost!)

In case I decide I want to store something for more than a day (so I don't have to backtrack to the shinkansen station), is it possible to do this? Or is there a limit on how long you can leave something in the locker?

Yes, you can leave your stuff for more than one day. I believe that the charge is for the current day. It doesn't matter what time you pay your 300 yen (maybe 400?) to lock your stuff up. At midnight, another day's charge will be imposed and you will have to pay it before you can unlock.

Yes, you can leave your luggage in the locker for more than a day. The limit may be 7 days, 7 weeks ? I'm not sure but for a few days absolutely. The balance to pay will be shown on the small window on your locker the day when you return there. They will charge you by day, about yen 300 - 1000 depending on the size of the locker.

I think you are right about the 7 days, kappa. I left some stuff at Odakyu Shinjuku station for 3 or 4 days once. Lost the key and had to pay for 7 days (maybe 8) before the attendant would open it for me.
