My wife and I will be traveling to Tokyo Jan 13, 2023 for two weeks. I have looked at the pricing for tours on viatour, tours by locals, etc. The pricing is substantially more than we had hoped to spend. The only way to make this affordable is to find other couples that would like to join us to help defray the cost to each person. Is this the right forum to be looking for people to join us.?

You don't have to book a tour. You can do it yourself.

I don't really understand what you are looking for. Tours are usually priced per person for two people. The only way I could see a savings by travelling with another couple would be a tour that included a personal guide and private transportation (in a minivan, for example).
