I used Red Carpet Limo Service which is in the Arrivals Hall at the Airport. The counter people speak excellent English but I cannot say whether or not they have a driver available for what you want (all-day) that does speak English.

However the taxi's are extremely inexpensive...and the best transportation is the River Express Boats. BKK is notorious for its traffic.

There is a new modern, local rail service in the city now, it was being constructed in Nov of 1998 when I was there.

In any event you can check out Red Carpet Limo Service when you arrive. At minimum they will can take you to your hotel...

Hi there,

One of the worst places for hiring a limo service is at the airport since companies must pay officially and under-the-table for the privilege of having a desk at the airport.

If you definitely must use a limo service you would be better advised to arrange it directly with one of the many such services in Bangkok or through the tour desk in your hotel.

Returned from holiday in Bangkok 3 weeks ago. Was very fortunate on last day there - found a taxi driver who spoke English that was easy to understand. I was travelling by myself - found him to be thoroughly reliable and honest. Whilst he is not a Limo Driver his taxi was clean, air conditioned and I hired him for the full day. I can give you his name ph.no etc if you are interested. Highly recommend him and for shopping you can't beat the MBKShopping Centre.

Bon Voyage,

Carmel
