Thank you for your advice! we have decided on Lijiang and staying at the Banyan tree resort there- has anyone been there? Thoughts?

Lijiang Old Town is amazing, but unless you go hiking Tiger Leaping Gorge, there's not a lot to do (take the chair lift up to Snow Dragon Mountain..? Yangshuo has the rice terraces 2 hours away in Long Sheng (recommend Li Qing guest house) and Yangshuo has great river rafting and easy hiking, plus sport climbing all over the place - recommend the Yangshuo Mountain Retreat - good for families and close to all activities, but not in the noisy town.
