Like takayama , osaka , Yamagata , sendai , Ashikawa , kamikawa and Sapporo ??

How abt Ashidake Onsen and Syonkon Onsen ? because i will carry my backpack from Sapporo to Ashikawa and take bus to Ashidake Onsen/ Syonkon Onsen.

It's not all stations but many large stations have coin lockers. From my experience, there are lockers in Takayama and Osaka. Some are small-ish, like a shopping bag size, some are large enough to accomodate 20" suitcase (though there are fewer lockers so could be hard to find the empty ones).

Hi, Jackychuah -

For information about luggage lockers at JR stations, see:

Hope that helps!

I have not been to Sounkyo yet but am planning a trip next year.

I wouldn't worry too much about stowing your back pack. Asahikawa is the second largest city on Hokkaido so the JR station will have lockers. You can take your back pack with you on the highway buses. I have taken my 22" suitcase on many times with no hassles whatsoever. See here for bus info

and info on taking the bus from Asahikawa to Asahidake

Aloha!
