Laurus Travel
Has anyone traveled with the company lately? I found it in a travel magazine last year and am seriously considering booking with the Canadian company. The article was written by a Florida woman talking about her Silk Road tour arranged by the company. But her trip was in 2000. If you traveled with the company recently, I'd love to hear from you.

terry,
I think I read the same article somewhere. Lately my husband and I have been talking about going on a Silk Road tour ourselves. Since we threw out all the magazines when we moved in September, I'd appreciate it if you can tell me how to get hold of the tour operator.

Fredie,

The reason I intentionally entered one letter wrong with my e-mail address is to avoid unsolicited messages like yours. If you have a website, I'd like to take a look although we have decided to go with Laurus Travel. Last year, I posted a question with my e-mail address and after that I was just inundated with messages from people like you. I learned my lesson.

terry

I traveled with Pacic delight Tours in June last year. 15 days including a 5 day Regal Cruise on the Yangtze. Great tour and I recommend PDT. However, I think this year PDT has increased its prices too much. I have done a massive amount of research on the web for other companies that offer low prices. Because of the differences between the U.S. dollar and the Canadian dollar, seems like traveling with a Canadian companym offers the most "bang for the buck". Besides, there is the added plus of traveling with people from another country. I narrowed it down to 2 companies. Laurustravel.com and pacificrimtravel.com. Pacific Rim did not offer a tour that fit my needs (just a timing thing), so I decided to go on the Laurus Travel "China Experience" Jun 7th. Both companies seem to offer excellant prices. I have done text based web searches on both companies. Also accessed the Canadian BBB via the web and have only found positive comments on both companies. Check them out. Maybe they will work for you.

I have been looking at tours in China, and as a solo traveler I have found www.intrepidtravel.com to have the best prices (not on their site). If you ask for a brochure, a Canadian travel agent will mail it to you with the prices. In my case, one in Toronto. Although that may be the only one. Try the site.
