Kyoto stuff

Looking for stuff to do in Kyoto with my 14 year old twins. We did a lot of temples last time and they were burned out. Anyone do this? Is it fun or cheesy? Samurai Kembu Theater?

We will go to Arashiyama, do a couple temples, walk around..... Pub cafe..... Maybe a class on woodblocking? Nara.

Definitely looking for something a little different but not a tourist trap.

Thanks
