Ko Chang to Sihanoukville?
Tips on the easiest way to get from Ko Chang or Trat to Sihanoukville?? I think that there is a border crossing area at Hat Lek. So would the easiest by be by land from Trat to Hat Lek? Or is there a way by boat from Ko Chang to Sihanoukville? Any advice or help would be much appreciated! Thank you!!

It's on this page. http://www.talesofasia.com/cambodia-...p-reports1.htm though most of the information is for the opposite direction. No problem, just reverse it.

From Ko Chang you get to the Trat bus station, cross the road and walk back 100 metres to a stand where you will catch a minbus to the Hat Lek boarder. You could probably arrange a taxi from the ferry port directly to the boarder if you wanted. The bus takes about an hour. Once you clear customs (visa can be obtained here) there will be either taxis or motorbikes waiting to take you over to Koh Kong via the bridge. They will drop you off at either the Sihanoukville boat pier or the market where share taxis to Sre Ambel and onward to Sihanoukville are gathered.
If you use the taxi you can make it to Sihanoukville in one day. The road is not too bad and is very scenic but there are four rivers to cross on barges. Hopefully by the end of this year they will have completed the bridges. It takes around 5-6 hrs to Sre Ambel and from there 2hrs to Sihanoukville over the best road in Cambodia.
The ferry leaves at 8am so there is no way to make the trip from KC in a single day. It takes 4 hours and is a very enjoyable trip with great scenery of hundreds of small islands, villages and beautiful unspoiled beaches. You can either sit inside in a/c comfort or stay on the deck. For the latter have long pants and a sweater handy as it is quite cool and it is also a good idea to have earplugs if you don't like loud Khmer music. If on deck it is a must to wear a hat and have plenty of sunscreen as the sun can be very hot. There are toilets, but be warned that they are not very clean.
