I've been buying jewelry from SJ International for 20 some years. Excellent selection, excellent prices. I'm don't have their card here, but if you do a seach on this board, you'll find their contact information, as I've posted it many times. Call them and they will pick you up at your hotel.

If you just want gold, no stones, Chinatown is the place to go. They deal in 24K at very reasonable prices. Be aware, they do not bargain. In fact, if someone is willing to bargain on pure gold, it's probably not what it's made out to be. Prices in Chinatown are set by the weight of the piece and the price of gold that day.

Second to Venus. I recall that it's about 1 block from the Night Market. Don't be afraid to bargain. I believe the custom, though, is that you have a serious intent to purchase if you begin the process. Correction from old TL-hands,if this is wrong, please.
A comment on the gold shops in Chinatown. These are not jewelry shops, gold is an investment instrument in TL. So, there is little/no attempt at art/design. And little/no "selling". But, 24K gold is sold per weight and is a good deal there.

we use thai stone jewelry in the lobby of the nana hotel on soi 4, sukhumvit rd....about 1/2 block in from sukhumvit on the right...near jw marriott hotel...although the nana is nothing like the jw....it is a dump but the jewelry is nice....we do mostly custom work with them....they have limited amounts of jewelry on display....family owned and staffed...
prices are fair and reasonable....we do not bargain with them....if you want something cheaper they have ways of making it cheaper...less K in the gold or not as heavy...just ask them...
