My daughter just sent us pictures from Tokyo(where she lives), cherry blossoms are blooming. Spectacular pictures, unfortunately will miss this as we going there in May.

The peak in Tokyo is supposed to last til April 5 or so (if weather cooperates and there is no high wind or rain). So maybe my daughter and I will get to see some next Saturday and Sunday if a few are hanging around.

Hi from Kyoto - I've seen some here particularly at the Imperial Palace and adjoining park today although not along Philospher's Path when I was there on Saturday. But Kyoto is great without them. Having a grand time - hope you all enjoy as well!

Hi Mara! Glad to hear you made it to Kyoto. Are you posting from an internet cafe? I guess the cherry blossoms will open a little later in Kyoto.

Here is a very detailed update as of yesterday (and it will be updated twice a week) on all major cherry tree sites in north, south, east, west Kyoto and beyond, waht percent of buds are opened, when is ful opening predicted at each site, etc. Best detailed data I have seen.
