Itinerary help with South India
Planning on flying into Mumbai and touring around and hopefully ending up in Goa. Can anyone help me with a great route to do this. I don't mind going off the beaten track and also I may need a private guide in some places.

Any recommendations?
Thank you in advance for replies.

I have a trip planned for January to India landing in Mumbai also. My brother has just decided not to go so I've got to decide if I can handle a month in India solo. I'll keep an eye on this forum too to get ideas. Petra, if you get any good leads please let me know. From what I've heard, Varanasi is also pretty spectacular.
