is it possible to do a day trip to lake towada from Aomori?
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to do a day trip from Aomori city to Lake Towada mid in April. The plan is to catch the JR bus to the lake and then hike the Oirase stream and then catch the bus back. Has anyone done that before? I'm just concerned about the time it takes for the return bus trips and the hike. Any help woudl be good.

It says 2h 40m by bus from Aomori to Oirase Stream. A "leisurely stroll of the 9-km-long promenade" is a "must" they say.
For 5+ hours on a bus I'd be tempted to stay overnight in the area.
