Is Boracay in early July - a bad idea?

Hello all,

I am about to embark on a business trip to Asia and will be visiting the Philippines for my first few meetings... I was contemplating spending a weekend in Boracay. Would that be taking a gamble weather-wise?
Looking forward to reading your views on that...

It's rainy season now in the philippines and during rainy season the lots of algae and seaweeds are washed to the shore of the beach. The beach is still beautiful but if you are planning to spend a lot of the time on the beach it may not be the best time to do it. However, there are still lots of restaurants and a great spa called Mandala that can be an alternative in case it rains.

Does it rain every day, or just from time to time? Thanks for the precisions, Purplefish!

For the past week, it's been raining daily....some days heavier than others. Better to consult weather forecast online and base your decision on that.
