Intinerary
I am planning a two week trip to Thailand in mid-December and am looking for ideas on intineraries. Right now I think I would like to spend a couple of days in Bangkok, a few in Chaing Mai and a few on one of the islands(Hua Hin, Ko Samui) etc. Is this too much travelling for 2 weeks or is this doable without being totally exhausted. Any input or ideas about intineraries would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Kristina ^<^

Very doable I would think. You need about three days in Bangkok and perhaps the same in Chiangmai, particularly if you want to have a look at the surrounding areas.

Then you need to pick your beach resort depending on what sort of thing you want, snorkelling, diving, nightlife etc. By the way Hua Hin is not an island it is on the coast a little below Cha Am.

To cut down time wasted travelling you might consider a night train from Bangkok to Chiangmai and then flying to whatever beach resort you want.
Your itinerary is fine !

Although you will always wish for more time, and start planning your return visit the moment you get home!

I did Bangkok (4) Chiang Rai (3) Phuket (1) Krabi (4) Phi Phi (4) which worked well. Of course there were other places I wished I'd visited but I couldn't squeeze them in. So I guess I'll just have to wait for my return visit !

_______________________________________My Travelogue & Photos
http://www.bangor.ac.uk/~fos007/fb2b.htm
We did 3 nights Chiang Mai, 4 nights KoPhiPhi, 4 nights Railay, and 3 nights Bangkok in January. We flew from BKK to Chiang Mai, then to Phuket, ferry to Ko PhiPhi, then ferry to Krabi to Railay, and flew back to BKK from Krabi. The beaches are incredible, I can't wait to go back.
