althom1122, I saw one snake in 22 days of travel. A snake charmer near the Palace of the winds in Jaipur. Easily avoidable.

I encountered mosquitos only in Varanasi; no where else. I took malarone and wouldn't risk not taking it. Also use repellant in Varanasi ( we were there in December/Jan)

And, gpeters, I also cannot think of a better tour organizer the Ajay from Yatrik. You really feel he has your back when you are traveling. I'm so glad using Yatrik worked so well for you.

I also take Malarone. I just bought some citronelle based insect repellent in Goa that seems to be working well (although it's very oily) - Aromance Taila.
