Ideas to Travel around Velankanni

ear Friends,

we (family of 4 including elderly parents) need to visit Velankanni in the month of February '22. Incidentally, we have seen Mabalipuram, Puducherry, Thanjavur & Chidambaram and would not wish to repeat the same.

Can someone please suggest any other options where we can travel upto 6 hours by road. We have a Week with us and will spend only a day at Velankanni.

Few things on my mind, were Rameshwaram, Ooty, Yercaud etc...(Just randomy mentioning some names) .

Also request for suggestions for some authentic local experiences including food....

Thanks in advance...

Well, there's Madurai, that's a bit over five hours: https://mytimetotravel.wordpress.com...3/temple-town/

The Chettinad region is "only" about three and a half hours: https://mytimetotravel.wordpress.com...-by-chettinad/

Of course, Google tends to be optimistic, and given the state of Indian roads I might expect it to take longer. I preferred to travel by train in India.

place you can check

You can visit Yercaud which is around 290 km. It might take 6hr journey to go there you can try this place well known for its stunning beauty, trekking trails, and abundant forests, Yercaud is a wonderful vacation spot. There are various touristy spots in and around Yercaud and your holiday schedule will be packed. Do visit the 32-km Loop Road on which a drive is beautiful and perfect for a relaxed afternoon.
