Both are fine properties. The Mughal Sheraton is a bit closer to the market & Trident is further down the road. The Mughal has a couple of very good restaurants. I thought the NWFP cuisine offered at Peshawri is very good.
Happy Travels!

Of the two, the Muhgal Agra (Sheraton) is a much better hotel and a better location. The Trident is really a motel, even their “redone” rooms are not that nice, IMO. The lobby makes the hotel look much better than it actually is. (Trident hotels are a mixed bag. They are run by Oberoi, the same group which runs the Amarvilas, but are quite uneven. For example, the Trident Hilton Gurgaon is quite stunning architecturally and is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in, and the Trident Udaipur is supposed to be nice. But I would not put the Trident Hilton Agra is the same group.

At the Sheraton, none of the rooms have a Taj view, but they have a tower you can climb to get a view, which is kind of fun.

I have to say that other than the Oberoi, my favourite hotel in Agra would be the Taj View. www.tajhotels.com For value, location, rooms, and a good view of the Taj, the hotel is quite nice. The doubles are a good size with marble floors and nice new bathrooms with pedestal sinks. The suites were two good-size rooms with a canopy bed, flat screen TVs and a huge bath with separate shower. The Taj view rooms have excellent Taj views across the city, and only this hotel and the Oberoi have Taj views, albeit the Oberoi's are truly superb ones. The prices were about a third less than the Sheraton (rack rates). You can walk out from the hotel to bits of Agra which is a nice change from the other hotels like the Sheraton. They do not have the great big lawns and gardens of the Oberoi or the Sheraton, but then you aren't paying Oberoi prices. They have a nice small lawn area at the back with a pretty pool.

I was at the Sheraton in January, but be advised it is no longer called the Sheraton, its the ITC Muhgal (Luxury Collection). It's a very nice hotel. I've had lunch there a dozen times and stayed there once. There is an astrologer there which is worth visiting, also, a marble shop on the right side of the lobby which has some very unique Black Marble Elephants.

I think the Mughal Sherton is a far superior hotel that Taj View. Mughal Sheraton also features as a Luxury Collection hotel by starwood
