Hotel Bookings in Kathmandu and Pokhara

My wife and me will be traveling to Nepal for two weeks in January and we prefer to plan our trip indpendently. We need some suggestions on which hotels to stay.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Hey Chris, see that little search box up the top? type in Kathmandu.

You gotta say how much you want to spend, pal. Then we can help you. Try this for starters

You could, or course, just pitch up. I did, and thousands do.

If you want an inexpensive guesthouse, afterall's advice is good. You can bargain in person for the price of the room. If you are looking fro a very nice hotel, you'll want to make reservations in advance.

We're headed to Kathmandu in a few weeks, and we chose the Hyatt. I stayed at the Yak and Yeti many years ago, but recent reports indicate that it is now quite run down.

Hi we went to Nepal in Feb with our 3 year old son.
Stayed at the Hyatt Kathmandu which was good. Fishtail lodge in Pokhara which was a bit dated but good. (They were renovating some of i t while we were there). Two nights was more than enough.
Had a great time in the fixed camp doing an elephant trek in Chitwan (stayed Temple Tiger). Again, 2 n ights tops.
FLY as much as you can as the roads are HELL.
Stayed Dwarikas on our return. Expensive but well worth it.
Used nakul from Corsa Nepal travel and he was terrific.

We leave for India and Nepal October 4th!!

We finally decided on Dwarikas and Apa Vila Phulbari for our time in and around Kathmandu. We are really excited about both properties. I plan to write a review of each when we return.

Dogster, just saw that we will have a full moon while at Phulbari! Thanks again for sharing this unique property!

Wow Erwench, bravo. I really hope it;ll pay off for you. A full moon up there will be awesome. I certainly want to hear everything.

Just keep saying that 'unique' word.. it'll sure be that. Now go see for yourself. Well Done.

I'm jealous that I have to stay home.
