Had Spam sashimi for breakfast on Sunday.

The Miyako Odori is performed daily (I think) in Kyoto during the month of April. It will be cherry blossom time.

Glad you guys had a great GTG. Next year I'll definitely try to make it back and I hope Kathie can make it again, too. And hopefully Carol, Bob,Gpanda and many of the other regulars...and newbies, too. Do you think the island could take all of us together? Smiles. Happy Travels!

well, its been two weeks since the gtg, so i guess i'm a bit tardy for posting here. kalamai.

i was very busy from sunday, the day after the gtg. i had to tie up loose ends at work before i left on my trip on wed nite to the magic city, and then on to tuscaloosa for the big game in bryant-denny stadium. what an experience, being outcheered by 90,000 other fans. as most of you know, the high tide came in, and sunk the warriors. it was a great experience, and the people of bama are such nice and friendly people. this sentiment was echoed by all of the hi fans.

on my way back here, i stopped in lv to get re-certified as a probability practitinor second class. much to my surprise, the exam was waived, and on top of that, i was promoted to pp first class. i went to a great dim sum place on decatur ave. if anyone wants the name and address just let me know. i don't have the bus. card with me now. sorry.

since i got back, i've been busy catching up with the backlog. so, now i have a few minutes to reflect on the gtg on two saturdays past.

i must say, that it was one of the top four gtg i've been to. we had such a great time, from longhis to the end.

if it wasn't for a prior commitment to work at the local food bank, i must admit that i would have spent sunday in a horizontal position.

i'll try to post my comments about everyone going clockwise, as its the best way i can remember who was there. lol.

it was good to see isis and russ again. i hope that one day, dw and i can travel freely as both of you do. i discovered that russ and i share a common thread.

ok, i'm guessing now, but i think lucy was next to isis. mahalo lucy for bringing the beautiful leis for the travellers, and thanks for the one you gave me at longhis. the mgr thought it was my bday.

melissa, thanks for printing the name tags with the number of postings on them, and thanks for the lead on the luggage tags. they came in handy for me on my trip to birmingham. you are hanai-ed into the asia board family. i wish i had known that you were going to the city of lights, as i could have given you a cd of beautiful french songs sung by the famous french singer, cynthia mccorkindale.

mari, how come we end up on opposite ends again? anyway, it was good to see and chat with you again. isn't it amazing who you meet at these gtgs? you are also hanai-ed to the asian board ohana.

kai and makamae, mahalo for coming all the way from the rain forest of maui. it was nice meeting both of you, and it was fun singing happy birthday to kai. lol.

ht and linda, were you high school sweethearts? you sure look it. it was good to see you guys again. ht, i forgot to ask you, who is your hair stylist. i want to get the same dean martin hairstyle that you have. shaka! btw, mahalo plenty for the lauhala gift boxes for the special visitors.

mrw, thanks for coming all the way from la, and thanks for sharing your japan expertise with us. i must apologize for taking you into femme nu, as i thought there was a short cut to seoul garden. lol. lol. rotf.

and of course, mahalo to my dw, for allowing me to attend these gtg. i think by now she can see that people that you meet on the internet can be very very nice people.

well, its now time for some vino, and time to feed the dog before he squeels on me to dw.

Hi Makamae, I talked to Mike E. and he remembers your name but when I showed him your photo he blanked out! But he assumes you know him since you were like "WHAT?!" when I told you what he does for a living! hahaha
