Sorry - I meant a room for 2 people for the last week of January.
By decent I meant clean, with air-con and something close to the mrt lines so it's easy to get around. Perhaps something around Nathan Road?
Flying on Catay Pacific - but not sure if they have any deals on stopover hotels.
Does this help?

BP International on Austin Road. Bookable on asiahotels.com for $88/night all in.
It's north of Kowloon Park, so it's a fairly long walk from the Star Ferry. But pretty close to the restaurants on Knutsford Terrace, or to the Harbour City shopping center. It's also just short walk from Jordan MTR, which is closer than Tsimshatsui MTR.
[You can also get the Imperial for the same price. That's right behind the Sheraton on Nathan Road. But it's rated #125 on Tripadvisor out of 136 HK hotels. I won't recommend that one.]

Yes, the BP International is a pretty decent 3* hotel. My parents and relatives have stayed there several times with no or little complaints.
BP stands for Badan-Powell, and the building is built by the Scout Association of Hong Kong. Its local HQ is there.

We stayed at the Prudential Hotel, just above the Jordan subway station on Nathan Road. The hotel is "decent", as you define it -- and the location is excellent. Check it on tripadvisor.com.
