Now back from our trip which was wonderful, busy, and I am now exhausted! Tried many of the restaurant suggestions from Cicerone and rkkwan - excellent, unfortunately didn't have the best of weather, it rained for at least 3 days in the latter part of our stay, and the air pollution was very evident. Have recorded everything we did, where we ate and the cost if anyone is interested. Briefly we went to Cheng Chau Island, Man Mo Temple, SoHo, LanKwai Fong , Mongkok, Chi Lin Nunnery, Kowloon Walled City, Ngong Ping (Big Buddha), Sai King, Museum of Art, Avenue of Stars, Afternoon Tea at the Penninsula, Li Yuen Street Market, small food markets, we visited Birds Nest Street, Dried Fish Street, various old communities roads in that area, Chinese/Herbal Medicine Street, Hollywood Road, antiques and Artland in Lockhart Road. Victoria Peak up by taxi and tram down. We walked, we took the MTR, the Tram, the #6 bus to Stanley front seat, Stanley Market, Raining hard so didn't go on to Shek O. We used the bus Kowloon side, we also used taxis frequently. Also went on Aqua Luna. Didn't do - The Horse Racing - very disappointed, or go to Macau, but have to have some reason to go back!
Frantically writing up my trip report!
Would like to say thank you to everyone for the help and advice and especially to Cicerone and Rkkwan, loved all your suggestions and Rkkwan you will be proud of us, we ate local where we could including 10f at One Peking, which was amazing (Chao Inn.) Just a little problem was finding anyone who spoke English! We had a great time there, at Sai King we avoided the front restaurants and headed for the back streets, and ate at a very busy restaurant over 3 floors, we shared a table with the locals on the 3rd floor, one waiter was found who had very limited english but we asked him to suggest something with fish and we had a great meal for under $200, so many thanks.
We stayed at the Ramada HKI, the Marco Polo Hong Kong Kowloon, and the Langham Hotel Kowloon. -long story but we had a good time at all three.Because of the conference we were having trouble finding accommodation at reasonable rates.
We also ate at New Baccarat Cheng Chau, Pearl on the Peak - fantastic food and views, M on the Fringe - great food, and Aqua Roma/Tokyo- amazing views and good food.and various others that were recommended.
Pauline.

I feel like I need to cry! ![Imported](https://www.fodors.com/community/images/smilies/imported/bigsmile.gif)
That was excellent. And I can't believe the title of this thread. What's the thing about "with limited mobility"? You went to more places than most with full mobility!

Hi j_4tay
Tea at the Penninsula was just one of the best memorable experiences, well worth a try. There is a queue but the wait is not long, we were lucky because it was my husbands big birthday we managed to reserve a table.
I thought it was quite reasonable too. The decorations are fantastic, the orchestra/quartet/quintet was lovely and the tea and cakes yummy.
Definitely one to try again and again!

rkkwan,
"limited mobility" I haven't commented on the access for mobility impaired in Hong Kong as I find it is so personal and everyones "problems" are different. It was difficult sometimes, and I think because I am so much slower than others we didn't do as much in a day as others might. the MTR was great once you reached the lower level, but finding the access points with lifts or escalators could be a problem at TST for example. anyway I managed wherever we were, just slowly.
One regret, was not doing our last day trip as per our "guide" had suggested!
You have earned the title!
Now when will you next be there?
