Siam square near MBK shopping area has loads of good street food including desserts as does the Pratunam area. Its a good 30 min walk between the two and you can taste treats along the way.

Sukhumvit has a few guys that walk around selling fried bugs and frogs. Grasshoppers taste like chips and are high protein and safe to eat. Fried frogs are also very good.

You want to experience the real Thailand? That is it right there.

My advice is very helpful. Ive been to Thailand many times and know lots of Thais.

Food markets are a huge part of Thai culture and what Thais normally eat and what foreigners think they eat are world's apart.
