Well, we are actually pretty into markets. That being said, we don't want to schlep (and I guess it's quite a schlep) on Saturday to Can Cau and then again on Sunday to Bac Ha only to find out that the two experiences are not that different.

Anyone else who's been to both care to weigh in?

After the Can Cau market, having a night in the tranquilt Bac Ha is a good experience rather than the touristy Sapa town while you have a chance to attend the Bacha market early the next morning, much earlier than other buses and cars with full of tourists to be transferred from Lao Cai station or Sapa town. My suggestion is based on my stay in LP which I wrapped it up for less than 3 days.
