Help

Hello I am organizing a vacation to India; I got a quote from the company listed below. My concern is that they are asking for a 25% payment via wire transfer and the rest I can pay with a credit card. The itinerary they set up look pretty cool but I feel uneasy about sending money without knowing the company.

Bottom line is - does someone know these guys, and what was your experience and if not can you recommend an agency I can work with that is reliable and preferably takes American express.

Thanks

Joe

I'll think this a common practice from India tour operators. I'm working my itinerary with and Indian operator and they asked around 10% in advance for my trip in February. Maybe some others posters will comment on their experiences.

Hello there!
Greetings from a American who lives/works in India!

That price sounds a bit expensive, but really be hard to say exactly, as not sure of the hotels you are planning to stay in. For example, if you were in the highest caliber Oberoi type prices for the three weeks, perhaps this price would be warrented? But if it was average accomdation, does sound a bit pricey, for sure..Hard to say.

Anyways, i have been leading tours for over a decade and helping folks sort them out too, so would be happy to help and have a look over..Feel free to drop me a line.

About Amex. Most Indian Tour companies should certainly accept credit card/Amex PAYMENT. As a matter of fact, Amex is really the preffered mode of payment//card in India..I actually work in the travel industry and Amex is defiantely the prefered mode of payment.

About he company mentioned, i have not heard of them personally, but then again, there are so many operators in Delhi, so hard to say.

About prepayment, most operators would certainly want a prepayment or a deposit months before the trip, many different policies out there, company to company.

Anyways, i would be happy to take a look at your itinerary and/or help! And yea, i certainly know folks/operators who take American Express. Feel free to drop me a line at [email protected]
