I have pictures of the event. I just didn't figure dogster to be so tall and that he like his strawberry sundaes with whipped cream and a cherry on top. I saw you guys from the nearby Mos burger but I did not have the courage to join you and the dogster - handsome dude!

Carol... sorry the doggie "pooped" out on your ice cream party. It would have been fun to meet him... An interesting critter for sure.
Can I come to BKK? We have 10-12 inches of snow here and still snowing. I could use some of your nice warm retail therapy.

that's it...he's got to be a jerk.... standing up our poor carol and he even left her with melting ice cream running down her arms from the two cones she had bought...

Well, he SAID he was Dogster but we all know better. The Dogster imposter was a horrible, horrible looking thing. Poor Carol. She had a resigned, gracious look on her face as he dribbled and farted his way through the conversation. All around them gracious Thai families abandoned their Double Scoop Strawberry Sundaes and fled. Even the paparazzi disappeared, retching into their Nikons.
By the time he'd finished the restaurant was empty - as a matter of fact, the entire of Central World was deserted by 4.00 p.m. Eventually there was only an attractive gentleman with pink hair and plucked eyebrows left, staring in horrified fascination from the 5th. floor balcony.
I don't know who that was.

How disappointing. I have been rushing back and forth to the computer to hear how this "dream date" transpired. I even fantasized about joining the rendezvous. Would there be any romance in the air? Would Mango show up? Would the Cookies and Cream be as good as at Baskin Robbins?
I would have to say that of all the people that I would like to share an ice-cream in Bangkok with, Carol,The Dog and Mango would top my list (apoligies to BradinBangkok, Panda and Bob).

To begin with, your claim that "most" young men in Bangkok wear makeup, is simply not true. Most young men in Bangkok, as in most parts of the world, are simply trying to improve their lives. "Most" young men in Bangkok work long hours at numerous low-paid jobs such as taxi driver, waiter, or bar worker. Some young men may even wear makeup, but so what? Your comments linking wearing makeup to gender confusion has probably more to do with your own western conceptual framework related to what you perceive as the proper roles of men and women in society than anything else.

z - you choose this to be your first post on Fodors...without reading any of Dogster's previous posts. If you had, you would understand his sense of humor (which you obviously lack) and his extreme sensitivity and awareness of the differences between westerners and other cultures. Just click on his name and you will see how off-base you are...

Sorry I've been AWOL. My wireless stopped working last night right after my posting. I'm sitting in the Adelhi lobby right now, laughing hysterically, and people are staring at me. I don't usually cause such a ruckus, you know.

You see how many friends I have here on the forums, and you let all of us down.... haha I'll give you another chance to present yourself... the real you.... not that imposter... on Christmas Day (I'd guess about 7pm but will write here if that time changes) for turkey at the Pickled Liver.

The pink-haired dog was no BO, however. The imposter sitting at my table at HD, well that's another story.

I think our newest member zenod42 is absolutely correct. As I'd hazard a guess that not many of the young men of Bangkok are reading Carol's post about her 3,000th. trip to Bangkok, it's great to see they have a champion.
I don't have a sense of humour either, so I know what it's like to live in a state of existential angst. More power to you zenon.
Quite why anybody WOULDN'T be offended is beyond me, too. Dogster is an ugly, balding, fat farang with three teeth who wouldn't know his arse from a hole in the ground. He's only been out of Australia once, on an end-of-season Rugby tour to Pattaya, and should be dismissed out of hand.
