Hi, we were thinking of taking a river cruise up the Mekong to PhnomPenh. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions. When we arrive in PhnomPenh we plan on taking a bus to Seim Reap.

There are a couple of cruise lines doing that route, the best known is Pandaw. There have been plenty of reports here.

Do you want a cruise, or just to travel by water? It's now a recognized route if you don't want to spend several days on it. For me it was worth going by water just to see the how much things changed when you crossed the border.

Don't short-change Phnom Penh - it's worth a night or two before you move on to Siem Reap.

Thank-you for your replies. We are thinking of doing the river route for seeing the sites ...and it's different way to travel.

On the 18th.March we are doing a 7 night cruise Saigon to Siem Reap on the La Marguerite. I don't know when you wish to travel but when we return I will do a report on our trip
