Great Wall in a wheelchair

There are certain areas that have a lift to go up, however, that being said...one you arrive at the top you must go up and down many stairs along the way. It would be impossible with a wheelchair and probably dangerous to be carried.

According to my 96 year old father, apparently there was a "worker's entrance" where they were able to wheel my mother. They did not have to carry her or her wheelchair to get to the Great Wall. I don't know which gate they visited, but it's definitely do-able if you have the right guide to navigate the way. As I said earlier, she was on a tour that was geared to handicapped travelers, so they were familiar with the barriers wheelchair bound people face.
