Getting to Hua Hin from BKK
I went to HH a few years ago, with the impression (from my travel agent!) that it was only a 45 min ride from the airport in BKK. Well, was actually almost 3 hrs!!
Im planning to go again next month and try another hotel (last time we were at the Marriott which I loved; this time we'll try the Hyatt), and Im wondering if anyone has hired a driver / made arrangements with a taxi driver to take them to and from HH from BKK?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

i am staying at the hyatt in november...my plan is to use the shuttle service (500 B per person each way) that the hyatt provides from their bkk hyatt to the hh hyatt, once daily each way....10AM dep from bkk and 2PM dep from HH....
you need to make a reservation....try this address to make the res....

i have used AAC limo in the past from a bkk hotel (jw marriott on sukhumvit) to HH and it was about $65 one way...it took about 2 1/4 hours with one short w/c stop...
you can also take an hourly bus (southern bus station i believe) or the train also....there are a number of van services as well...
taxi is also a possibility...
a travel service from HH can also make the arrangements for you...i will look up their address and post for you shortly...
the hyatt van or aac limo seem the best to me...

I would use the Hyatt transfer service, I've seen the vans they use, nice Mercedez Benz, I think they seat about 5 to 7 people. It's a cheap way to do it. If yuo are going straight from airport the limo counter is 24/7, also hotels can book you limos.
The flight on SGA Aero is a single engine 12 seater 4 times a day. The trains take over 4 hours. There are express buses for a little over $4 but unless on a low budget the Hyatt transport or limo is probably the way to go.
Journey time depends entirely on traffic, but 2.5 to 3 hours would be normal.
