any suggestions on buying tickets from delhi to colombo, sri lanka? i am in china and can either purchase from here or can buy in india giving 7-10 day notice. i am seeing some high prices in china...

You could also book thru travel agents in Delhi.Ones that comes to my mind is Cox & Kings and Kuoni.

Yor cheapest option will be to fly Delhi-Chennai as some great fares are available then fly Chennai-Colombo. But it will be lengthy as 2 airport chekc ins and one transfer in Chennai from domestic to international terminal - which are next door so no issue but time is involved. Harsha has given you all the direct options - I think Jet Airways also flies, check their website too.
