English Speaking Guide in Tokyo

We used a wonderful Japanese woman, Junko Matsuda as our private tour guide for the past 2 days in Tokyo. She was recommended by Frommers guide on AOL travel and she was great!

She is fluent in English and Japanese and really takes you to the best places and the neighborhood things you would never see in the guide books etc.

I reached her by email at [email protected] and she charged us 10,000 yen per day ($85 approx) which was a bargain. This rate was for 2, 8 hour days so it might be a little more for less time. She even pays her subway fares and entrance fees herself.

She will greatly enhance your experience of visiting Tokyo!

I met Eriko in Cannes this year at a trade show and thought she was lovely.

Wow, Karen, you contacted a guide mentioned here 10 years ago and actually got a response from her. I'm impressed.

You might consider taking some walking tours with the volunteer guide tour service provided by the Metropolis of Tokyo. Visitors are required to pay only transportation expenses for themselves and one or two volunteer guides. We took advantage of this service for several garden walking tours and couldn’t have been happier with the guides and the days. For additional information see: http://www.gotokyo.org/en/tourists/g...ice/index.html

We used Junko 10 years ago and found her wonderful. Glad she is still helping make Tokyo an excellent experience.
