We will be traveling to Bangkok this winter.
Any suggestions?

How much time do you have in Bangkok and what are your interests? There is so much to see and do in Bangkok, it's hard to know what to recommend without some guidance from you.

Do get a good guidebook to prepare - that can help you decide what you want to see/do/experience in Bangkok.

I used the Destination Asia private guides for one on one tours.

You really don't need a guide- Bangkok is easy to do on your own. Use skytrain, MRT and river taxis to get around and street taxis when all else fails but make sure they use the meter- otherwise refuse and get another taxi.

I often suggest tong (tourswithtong) or rat for people with limited time... google them... tong has the better English, but rat is fine..

guides really not needed but I find they save you time and provide a/c transport which is essential

Having a driver is really helpful as you get more done in a day and you are taken around in an air conditioned vehicle which will save you time and energy.
