Elephant Nature Park

I am planning for a trip to the 'Elephant Nature Park' in Chiang Mai -Thailand at the end of the year for a 'volunteering holiday'. However, I would be travelling alone from Singapore...

Has anyone out there who has been to this place before? How do I travel to the nature park from the nearest airport? Also, would there be any additional safety precautions that I need to be aware of, since I am travelling alone?

Actually I have also heard of an Elephant Conservatory in Lampang, somewhere not too far from the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai... Seems like an interesting alternative that I could consider

Kindly seek your advise and expertise here.

Thank you very much. All your feedbacks would be genuinely appreciated.

Peace.

I don't know anyone who has volunteered at this park, although I do know it is highly regarded. The nearest airport is Chiang Mai, which you can fly into directly from Singapore.

I'm surprised the park cannot answer the basic question about how to get there. From the information on their web site, I would guess that they would be able to pick you up, as it says that transportation to / from the park is included.

Traveling alone in Thailand is *almost* never a problem.

We've volunteered for the day there 2 years ago and our parents for a few nights last year.

The park will pick you up for the airport (or whatever hotel you may stay at) no problem.

Have you spoken to them yet? I'm surprised they wouldn't have mentioned that.

As mentioned, you have nothing to worry about in regards to safety.

ENP is amazing...the owner is a true humanitarian (one actually featured in Time Magazine for her amazing work.) Being there was a highlight of our trip--know that the accommodations are somewhat spartan, but you're not really there for the rooms, so if you can live with that, you're sure to have an unforgettable adventure.

Nope. They're fervent animal activists.

Although the idea of dropping my mother-in-law in the middle of the jungle was tempting.
