Lots more results using google. You can buy at electronic shops, on line, airports, duty free sometimes, university bookstores often have if they have a Chinese program.

I own a AM-101 and found it to be reasonably functional. If you purchase one of these products, be aware that when entering English phrases to use proper English(poor translation for "slang" terms and words). The translating from English to Chinese is much more precise than the translation from Chinese to English.

tonguetied,
This is the exact model I was thinking of buying. You don't sound TOO thrilled with it and it costs $179, not cheap.
Someone on another board suggested buying one in China, cheaper?? I might do that too.

These dictionaries are cheaper in China - just know approximately what they're worth before you go, so you don't get fleeced when trying to buy one there.
There is also dictionary software you can purchase for your palm, pda, or smartphone if you have one.

Beijing or Shanghai have many stores which stock these. Everybody there buys one for their kid leaning English.
Need to know where you are going tho, to recommend a actual place.
You should be able to get something which would suit your needs for around $50

Lost in China: Actually, i am glad i purchased this translator. It is wonderful when translating from English into Chinese. It is only when translating from Chinese to English where sometimes the translation becomes lost in space
. I agree with others. You may want to waited until you arrive and purchase a translator in China. You can save some money.
