Eddie? I'm not sure who you are talking about. The Eddie that usually is referenced here is at the American Express office in Bangkok. He doesn't arrange for drivers or guides. If you want a driver for CM, there are a number that have been talked about here on the board, like Poon, or you can simply hire a taxi driver you like. That's what I did, and we had an excellent experience. If you look at my trip report, I do have his cell phone number listed. (Kathie's Penang, Chaing Mai, Bangkok Trip Report from November, 2006)

Sorry, I am talking about Eddie Aniwat of Seatours who has been mentioned on this forum and has an ofc in BKK and Chiang Mai. I have read about Poon also but this would probably be last minute and she sounds very popular and heavily booked usually.

Eddie is not in CM, but in Bangkok at the AmEx Office (it's called SeaToursThai in his address). He's the right person to contact for airplane tickets, but not the right person to conatct for a driver. If you are comfortable winging it, you'll easily find a driver once to get to CM. Like I said, a taxi driver or a recommendation from your hotel will work fine.

Thanks Kathie, and we will wing it-hopefully, the taxi driver who takes us to the resort will be suitable for a possible day trip or we'll just get a taxi at the hotel. Eddie had sent me a correspondence that listed an ofc in CM also and I wasn't sure if he was just for tkts.

Hi Everyone!
Would you all recommend using Eddie to book flights within Asia? How is payment made--in person in Bangkok? In advance by Amex credit card? (I may be staying at the airport hotel)
I am looking for help with flights, for example, from Yangon to Shanghai. If not Eddie, who can I enlist to help me do this?
Thanks!

I've used Eddie to book intra-asia tickets many times. I pay with my AmEx card.
Email him and see if he can book the tickets you want. Some airlines even Eddie can't book. A few years back I checked to see if he could book some tickets on Garuda within Indonesia. He could not.

I'm sure Eddie could get your tickets delivered to your airport hotel. My tickets are always awaiting me when I arrive at my hotel in Bangkok. Some of your tickets may be e-tickets, which makes delivery (via email) very easy.
