driving vs flying
My friend and I are landing in Bangkok and then want to go to Phnom Penh. We can buy plane tickets round trip for about 5,000 Bahts or drive. How does one arrange for being driven there? I would assume there would need to be a car change on the border. Is driving safe?

Is driving safe? Well, relatively. It's always safer to fly. Roads in Thailand are pretty good. Roads in Cambodia are poor to awful.

can't imagine not flying unless you are looking for an experience and lots of inconvenience...and it takes longer

Personally I would not do that drive. I feel very safe in Siem Reap, less so in Phnom Penh, and most of the rest of Cambodia seems a bit dicey to me.

If you can get a return fare for 5000 baht then this is the way to go. I have never seen a rate so low. Where can you get it and what airline. Of course if you want to go overland (Bangkok/Trat/Koh Kong Phnom Penh) it will be a third of the cost but will take a night and day.
