These guys are based in Chiang Mai, but I think they will do the golden triangle. I don't have personal experience with them, but the owner is a regular poster on flyertalk and always provides tons of valuable information. They even have some video clips on their website of some Chiang Mai sights - fun to watch!

I thought I would give a prop to a regular board-poster, even though it is not this board...

john44 -- I also used people in touch during our stay at the Anantara. We crossed to Laos and Myanmar, visited the Longneck Tribe, monkey temples, jade carving factory (great prices and quality) and some other misc. stops. They're prices were quite reasonable and you don't have to do a set tour. It is based on what you want to do. Are you staying at Anantara? I seem to remember making several replies to posts you made a year ago. It appears you postponed your trip more than once? I hope you make it happen this time...you will have a wonderful time!

Oops. I just read this thread again and see that you are staying at Anantara. We had a really good time with the elephants and timed our walk just before bathing. We jumped right in the river with them. It was amazing. I also recommend the cooking class. Chef Nan is the best!
