Disgrace from Bob

Once again I did my public service and spent an evening with Bob in public. It is really unfair that I have to do it so often. Some of you others should take your turn.

We had a very pleasant dinner at Cafe Mangal in Wellesley, MA. Turkish food. Bob and Karen has Chicken Milanese ( I know, why get Italian food at a Turkish restaurant, but it's what they chose). I had rack of lamb. Beth had baked Halibut.

Big surprise, Mr. Banker once again "forgot" his wallet and was unable to pay. This has happened in the past. It's not a one time occurrence. It's a sad pattern. Mr. Panda had to pay for everyone, again. Talk about insult to injury! Waste two perfectly good hours of my life and then I have to pay for Bob? Karma is a powerful force. I can only hope it is swift.

I can't imagine I'm the only Fodorite on whom he has pulled this scam.

Thanks for the tip Gpanda! So the rules or guide line for dining with you guys are:

When dining with Bob - don't?
When dining with Gpanda - don't bring the wallet as the Gpanda will always pay!

Pook-there are many rules for dining with Bob. First and foremost is:

Bring enough cash to pay for his bail. There's a strong likelihood that law enforcement personnell will be called to your table. While being a guest of the Commonwealth would do him some good, bailing him out will save Karen her usual level of mortification.

Andy, with your detailed reports of dinner with Bob, it makes all of us want to come (and observe from afar).

You are all invited. You can watch his shameful actions in real time. You too can be embarrassed for him. Just bring your wallets.

I can't describe the look on his face when he "realized" that he had not brought his wallet. It makes life worth living.

people of our station rarely deal with mundane facts like paying with cash or having money readily available....we leave that to our minyons---gpanda, a loyal servant but ungrateful i see---lashes await..

"people of our station"? Exactly what station would that be? It conjures up an image of a wind swept platform with several people huddled together in a fruitless attempt to preserve warmth. The inevitable result of Bob's economic policies.

Are all the people of his station horrible spellers? Is their grasp of the English language just as tenuous?

Karen has been forgiven under the "innocent spouse" provision of the General Panda Code.

If Bob were nobility, he would be the Earl of Olay. Pleasae forgive the pun.

What is it with you and stations? Did you have a bad childhood experience on the T? I suggest that you not concern yourself with the rank of nobility, but confine yourself to remembering your wallet and keys. Think small. Oops, that's redundant.
